Here is Mildred, the Paper Mache Mouse wearing her best dress. She is approximately 16 cm tall x 8 cm wide x 13 cm from front to back, and weighs 100 grammes.
Mildred's favourite cake is strawberry gateau - and who can blame her!
She is lovingly made out of Paper Mache clay, but her creation takes many hours to complete and involves seven processes along with drying time. Firstly I make a strong wire armature, then pad it out with cardboard and tin foil which is then covered in masking tape. The paper mache clay is applied in layers waiting for each one to dry before applying the next. This is then followed by an undercoat, then the scupture is painted with acrylic paints before a coat of varnish is applied. Mildred's slice of gateau is individually made and glued on afterwards.
Like all my Paper Mache Pals she is a one-off.
Mildred would love to find a new and loving home. She is quite delicate, so cannot be treated as a toy and should be handled with care. She would love to be a display piece.
